Big Heart

Perfect Design

It is no wonder
that the planets shaped us
from the moment we were born
into complementary shapes.

It is no surprise that your hand
fits too perfectly in mine,
even though it took my breath
away the first time you held it.

I can’t say that after our eyes met
that I was caught off guard
by the magnitude of our kiss.

For there was a delicious knowing

that something deep was in store
from the moment we met, again.

In this dance,

this whirl of stars and atoms,

we simply returned to one another
after merging with the Divine.

Drawn together with a natural force

and grace, so simple yet profound.

A grand design that we accepted
and made our own.

And so it is no wonder
that we move with such harmony

for it is out of the same rhythm
that we take our breath
and to the same music that we dance.
